Greetings, Delegates!

Our world is constantly changing. We face new developments, as well as tragedies , on a daily basis and are confronted with the difficult task of making a difference for ourselves and for the society we live in. We face challenges in our daily lives- be it career decisions, personal choices or global compromises. We face a steady development towards "harder, better faster, stronger", giving us little time to thoroughly think everything through, putting us in front of "black and white" decisions. At the same time, we live in a time of crisis on various levels: Brexit, health pandemics, territorial claims, refugee rises and a shift towards less co-operation amongst international players and more aversion, based on fear and little understanding of common grounds. The crises are sometimes fuelled by incomplete and inadequate interpretations be media in a way that might lead some to think "What is actually gone wrong with our world ?" and some to say "How can we make a change for the better?"
This and many more , are the reason young minds engage in various ways to try to make a difference: volunteering networks and summer programs are on a rise. More and more adolescents chose to be a part of something bigger, making their voices heard and actively contributing to the changes that will forever influence us. One form of commitment is participating in Model United Nations (MUN), which gives many young minds the possibility to prepare for their future careers , as well as debate pressing topics and connect with others from all over the world, building long lasting friendships. With this I, as Secretary General of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Education Model United Nations 2017, together with the SAIEMUN Secretariat, am incredibly proud to heartily invite you to be part of this bigger something Make a change for tomorrow and participate in our conference. Sri Aurobindo Institute of Education Model United Nations from October 31-November 2, 2017.

Upamanyu Chatterjee,
