" The first seventeen years of this century has seen the most rapid technological advances in human history and there is no sign that this will abate in the years ahead. And the world has taken a giant leap ahead and is progressing rapidly.

Therefore education should be holistic, focussing on technical skills, social skills, and having the competency to adapt to changing and demanding situations around oneself. Formal education alone is not enough to equip young people with the competencies needed for this world - non-formal and informal education play a very important role in this regard. We need to equip young people with skills necessary to realize their full potential. All young boys and girls should be a part of the development process.

The rapid global changes have affected the world politically, geographically, culturally, environmentally etc. The young boys and girls have to keep pace with these rapid changes. The United Nations is always racing to help those Nations caught in a crisis, but it cannot reach everyone, everywhere. Therefore, the young students of today should be better equipped and understand their rights and mobilize their peer group . Only by tapping the youth can we create a much better world for everyone.

We need to do a quick bit of introspection, question ourselves - are we doing everything  within our power to ensure that young students of today are fulfilling their potential as agents of change of our common future. How often do we get a chance of being a part of something big? How often do we get a chance of designing our own future? Opportunities are rare and one must make the most of these opportunities when it comes our way. After all some opportunities are for a life time.  We all have one big opportunity before us i.e. Sri Aurobindo Institute of Education Model United Nations 2017. It is a simulated version of the actual United Nations where students will get an opportunity to hone their debating skills and their diplomatic skills.

So be an enthusiastic participant and perform well.

My best wishes to Sri Aurobindo Institute of Education Model United Nations 2017."
